Nightjars are a family of primarily nocturnal birds that may be recognized by their lengthy wings, well-camouflaged plumage and brief beaks. Some North American members of this family are called nighthawks. Many, but not all, catfish are nocturnal and most are present in freshwater habitats. The aye-aye is a lemur that lives within the rainforests of Madagascar, a large island positioned within the Indian Ocean off the coast of East Africa. Hainan gibbon are now discovered only in a single patch of forest within the Bawangling National Nature Reserve on China’s Hainan Island.
